FAQS
My car already has a manufacturer's warranty, why do I need the Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty?
The manufacturer's warranty does not cover damage to your tires. The Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty will ensure that your tires will be repaired or replaced when damaged by road hazards.
What do I do when I have a flat tire?
Return to your selling Dealer and your tire will be repaired or replaced at no cost to you. Refer to your warranty for details.
Can I save money with the Nitrogen Tire Inflation Program?
Yes. According to Transport Canada, Nitrogen improves fuel consumption by up to 4%. That can equate to savings of $120 per year or more. You can calculate your savings at www.getnitrogen.org
Will Nitrogen affect the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) on my vehicle?
Yes. Nitrogen will help maintain proper inflation in your tires and reduce the number of faults detected by the TPMS.
Is Nitrogen explosive or a hazard?
No. Nitrogen is an inert, non-combustible, non-flammable, non-corrosive gas. Nitrogen is very safe!
Do I still need to check tire pressure?
Yes. Transport Canada advises "check your tires once a month, especially before you head out on a long trip."
Can I add regular air to my tire when Nitrogen isn't readily available?
Yes. Nitrogen can be mixed with compressed air if required. However, to maintain the safety and benefits of nitrogen, return to your Sym-Tech® Nitrogen Dealer at your earliest convenience and have them purge and refill the tire with Nitrogen.
